Poem for a night in March - Courage of hope

We heard him say: courage of hope
in a church in Kajang, where no Allah is allowed
Religious, convert or atheist
All are made to be devoted

Nobody deserves to be powerless
in the prison of darkness
We heard him say: courage of hope
from a man who fell and rose

Tonight, like all those blacked-out nights
not a single star in the sky
The winners are celebrating
but we see nothing
we hear nothing
Alas, one last hope!
